Hi’s first role was small part in movie “Wilde” in the 1997 where he played rent boy.
Just few days later when he graduated from Guidhall in 1999, he got his first big role when he played Legloas in “The Lord of the Rings” film trilogy (2001-2003). (Probably the first movie we all saw him for the first time.) He was suppose to play Faramir but later was chosen for Legolas.
During this shooting he broke a rib after he fall from the horse but got back on it and finished his work.
On same time he got a small part in movie “Black Hawk Down” as PFC. Todd Blackburn.
In 2002 he was chosen as one of the Teen People “25 Hottest Stars Under 25” and was named People’s Hottest Hollywood bachelor in the magazine’s 2004 list. Orlando has also won other awards, including European Film Awards, Holllywood Festival Award, Empire Awards and Teen Choice Awards, and has been nominated for many others.
Bloom next starred opposite Keira Knightley and Johny Depp in “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl”, a blockbuster hit during the summer of 2003.
After the success of Pirates he played Paris, a jung man who became a reason of why the Trojan War started. 2004 was the year when we saw movie “Troy” where Orlando played next to celebrities like Brad Pitt, Eric Bana and Peter O’Toole.
In the 2005 year he played a lead role in movies like “Kingdom of Heaven” and “Elizabethtown”. Next year he got back with Keira K. and Johny D. in movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” and played also in “Haven”, where he was also executive producer.
In year 2007 Bloom tooke role in third part of “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End”. That was his last appearance in Pirates saga. After what he intended to become a stage actor and leave movies for some time.
On 24 August 2007, he made his first ever TV commercial appearance on late-night Japanese TV, promoting the Uno brand of cosmetics maker Shiseido. A “one night only”, 2-minute version of the Sci-Fi themed commercial kicked off the product’s marketing campaign.
In year 2008 Bloom signed to play a small part in British film “An Education” but dropped out to take the lead in Johnny To’s film “Red Circle”. Later in 2009th he was one of the many stars to appear in “New York, I love you”.
After a few years brake-up we see him in “The Three Musketeers” in 2011 where he plays with Milla Jovovich, Logan Lerman, Mattew Macfadyen etc. On same year he noticed that would like to return in Pirate’s Saga fift part if he will be offered.
Thanks to “The Hobbit” saga we meet our beloved Legolas again. Also Bloom had been busie in Brodway stage debuting with “Romeo and Juliet” in August 2013 where he played Romeo.
